The Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board (Summit DD) is a government agency in Summit County, Ohio, that connects children and adults with developmental disabilities to resources, services, and community opportunities. It provides personalized support across all stages of life, including early intervention, school-age programs, employment assistance, and independent living services. Summit DD’s mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential while fostering inclusion and accessibility within the community.
Led the end-to-end redesign of the Board’s public-facing website, aligning accessibility, usability, and brand identity with the organization’s mission and audience needs.
Conducted stakeholder interviews, user research, and persona development to guide design decisions and prioritize features for diverse user groups, including individuals with developmental disabilities, families, and service providers.
Created detailed site maps, user flows, and wireframes to optimize navigation, reduce cognitive load, and improve task completion rates.
Designed a fully responsive interface that exceeded WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, ensuring inclusivity across devices and assistive technologies.
Directed and designed the visual brand system, including typography, color palettes, iconography, and component libraries, for consistent branding and ease of maintenance.
Collaborated with our developers to ensure accurate design implementation, pixel-perfect UI execution, and adherence to performance benchmarks.
Implemented content strategy best practices, reorganizing information architecture to make critical resources easier to find and understand.
Managed the deployment process, coordinating with IT, communications, and compliance teams to ensure a smooth launch with zero downtime.
